I am an experienced primary school teacher and have spent over 15 years in the classroom, with particular expertise in Key Stage 2. I have also been a school senior leader and recently led a project to develop effective assessment procedures, policies and practice across the curriculum. My time in the classroom provided me with many opportunities to work with student teachers, which developed my passion for teacher education.
I lecture in both mathematics and English on the BA Primary Education programme and am a member of the Mathematics Education research group, with interests in advancing theory and practice for mathematics learning across all educational levels and settings.
Other areas of interest include: Assessment for Learning, inclusive teaching and learning in mathematics and leadership and management.
