If your results are better than expected, Adjustment is a process which allows you to reconsider where and what you want to study. You can use Adjustment if you have exceeded the conditions of your conditional firm (CF) choice.
If you don't find a suitable place elsewhere, you'll remain accepted at your original choice. Remember that you cannot adjust your insurance choice. For further information, please visit the UCAS website.
Adjustment won't be right for everyone – if you carefully researched your course and university, your original choice might still be the best one. You should also think about non-academic arrangements that may need to be rearranged, such as accommodation, support and student funding.
Please note that:
Adjustment is available from A-level results day on Thursday 18 August until the end of August and is intended for those applicants who, having met and exceeded the conditions of their firm choice offer, want to reconsider where and/or what to study.
As soon as you have a confirmed place (or from A-level results day, whichever is later) you have five calendar days to look for and agree an alternative place at another university or college.
You need to register on UCAS Track to allow universities and colleges to view your application for Adjustment.
Once you have registered, you can directly contact the universities that you're interested in to find a suitable place. You can contact as many universities as you wish, but can only receive one formal decision through Adjustment. For full information, please visit the UCAS website.
If you don't find a new course that suits you, you'll remain accepted at your original choice.
