Make It Global workshop - Sustainable development: strategies to access new supply chains

Our speaker, Dave Farebrother will provide a brief overview of sustainability and why having an environmental strategy is important in terms of:

  • legislative compliance;
  • winning new business from certain clients;
  • accessing supply chains; and
  • gaining competitive advantage.

Environmental sustainability is important to any business, of any size, in any sector. Dave will share with delegates a toolkit intended to show how even the smallest business with no obvious impacts can address its environmental aspects in a simple, structured way and help to reduce costs and increase opportunities to win new business. For organisations whose impacts are potentially a little greater, the toolkit also demonstrates a simple way to integrate a management system into your business and even takes businesses to the point of being ready to consider formal certification.

About the speaker

Previously, he led the highly regarded and innovative environmental team at Land Securities for 15 years, having also served for 10 years as the group's Energy Manager, and also worked in the university and local authority sectors. He was named as 2007's Environment Manager of the Year by the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
