Bronze casting / sculpture workshop

An opportunity to learn the traditional method of bronze casting. Students start with a presentation by sculptor Richard Trupp who will be teaching and leading the course. The presentation includes an introduction to the bronze casting 'lost wax' process. Students will be asked to bring in a pre-prepared item made out of anything that "burns easily", i.e. wax, balsa (light) wood, foamboard, string, wool, cardboard, etc. Not plastic, plasticine or hardwood. This will be a maximum size of 10" x 4" x 4" which they will take away to finish.

The process then continues with students learning the skills of transforming their creations into permanent bronze sculptures. Students see the alchemy of the metal being poured and learn the metalwork and finishing skills required to realise their bronze sculpture.

Booking is essential to attend this event.
