Unlike previous years, and due to the current situation, all KLS classes will be delivered online – real-time interactive virtual classes.
At the end of each semester-long module, there will be two assessments: Reading & Writing and an Oral Assessment.
Please note: KLS assessments cannot be rescheduled.
Please also note: a minimum of 10 students is required in order for a course to run. Should any course not recruit enough students, it will be cancelled.
This course is for absolute beginners. It aims to give learners a basic knowledge of reading, listening, spoken and written skills in a dynamic and communicative way, through individual, pair and group work and studio-based and authentic texts. The focus is on accuracy as well as communication.
This module is designed to provide near-beginners with the foreign language skills to enable them to interact satisfactorily in survival situations and social encounters in the foreign country and to be aware of related aspects of the foreign culture and environment.
This course is designed to develop the language competency already acquired by students. It focuses on developing the levels of communication in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Students will improve and consolidate the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary acquired previously. The module also engages with aspects of the language's culture and society as it aims to provide students with a wider context for language learning.
