Kingston University's Primary Engineer projects recognised at inaugural MacRobert Medal ceremony at COP26

Two innovate engineering solutions dreamt up by school pupils and brought to life by Kingston University were awarded Primary Engineer MacRobert Medals at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow. The Bicycle Sucker and the Extending Sink 6000 were among six designs recognised at the inaugural award ceremony, supported by the MacRobert Trust, WEIR Group and the RAF Charitable Trust.

Two postgraduate fashion students from Kingston School of Art have been recognised for their efforts to turn textile waste into sustainable fashion. Their upcycled collections made it to the final of the Redress Design Award 2021, a sustainable fashion design competition held annually in Hong Kong.

Technical education expert outlines importance of degree apprenticeships for developing key career skills during visit with Kingston University nursing students

The value of degree apprenticeships was on the agenda as Kingston University's nursing associate students and staff received a visit from the Chief Executive of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. Jennifer Coupland, former Director of Professional and Technical Education in the Department for Education, met and spoke with students on the University's nursing associate degree apprenticeship programme and watched them in practice. She also found out more about both the nursing associate and social work degree apprenticeship courses from academics teaching on the programmes.
