Emily Tan

About

I lead and lecture on the Fashion & Fabrication Pathway of the Foundation course at Kingston University. We explore concept, narrative, creative construction, drape, drawing, design development and more through brief led projects designed to develop the necessary skills for Fashion, Costume and Textiles disciplines at degree and beyond.

Externally I have my own discipline in sustainable fashion design and seek to address issues with waste and product life cycle through my brand 1800 Gallons. I predominantly work with pre-existing denim and design seasonless slow fashion collections using vintage and deadstock materials and try to bring in sustainability and a mindful design approach to my teaching.
