Mr Amit Puni

About

I am proud to be a Senior Lecturer at Kingston University, where I work across the faculty of HSSCE. I lecture from undergraduate all the way through to doctoral level. I lead the Working with Children & Young People: Social Pedagogy BA (Hons) course.

In my previous role, I successfully established and led the Citizenship with Social Science PGCE route. My work in educational environments stretches over 20 years, both internationally and within the local landscape of London.

Beyond this, I am as the national Country lead for England in the Five Nations Citizenship and Value Education Network.  I am an Adviser on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion to the subject Association for Citizenship Teachers (ACT). Additionally, I contribute my expertise in my role as a School Governor in Kingston, a role that allows me to directly impact our local community. In this role, I have transformed and developed the Racial Justice Policy, lead staff CPD, and revamped procedures to ensure equity for students. In addition, I am a member of the European Race Equity forum.

Presently, I am in the final stages of a PhD, with a focus on understanding educational attainment patterns by deploying a Critical Race Theory lens. My academic interests encompass education and issues of social justice.
