I am a motivated and experienced Chartered Engineer with extensive industrial and academic experience. I joined the Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at Kingston University in 2018 and currently working as a Lecturer (HPL). My subject specialisms are Engineering Design & Analysis (CAD/CAM/CAE), Human Factors and Artificial Intelligence.
I hold a Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from University of Birmingham. Prior to that, I studied Mechanical Engineering at Amirkabir University of Technology. I am currently doing a PhD Research in "Developing Methods of Measuring and Parameterising Emotional and Physical States for use in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)" at Kingston University.
I have significant industrial experience of designing and development of award winning innovative seating systems for iconic car companies.
I'm a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and have a passion for teaching and research. I have particular experience of teaching Automotive, Motorsport, Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Product Design Engineering & Manufacturing courses and supervised UG/PG research projects.
I am well connected in the broader engineering community and I am an active Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE). I sit and hold leading positions on various Institution panels. I am a keen advocate of STEM and hold the Institution position of Vice Chair of Greater London Region Committee.
My research area is Design Engineering and Analysis, Biomedical devices and implants, Ergonomics and Human Factors. My current research focuses on Signal Processing and Artificial Intelligence of Biomedical signals, facial features recognition, emotion identification and development of non-invasive Patient Monitoring Systems (PMS), Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Lecturer (HPL) in Mechanical Engineering
Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in Design Engineering and Manufacturing subjects including, Design for Manufacturing, Engineering Drawings, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Design Process, Surface Modelling, Mould Design, CNC Machining & Rapid Prototyping, as well as subjects related to Control Systems and Embedded Implementation.
Teaching scenarios included seminars, online and in-class lectures, tutorials and practical laboratory sessions.
I have supervised a wide variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate projects in the subject of Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence) and Design Engineering & Analysis.
Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence)
• BEng, MEng and MSc projects typically involved carrying out studies on Signal Processing/ Artificial Intelligence of Biomedical signals (e.g., ECG, EEG, RR), facial features recognition, emotion identification and development of non-invasive Patient Monitoring Systems (PMS), Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Design Engineering and Analysis
• UG/PG projects involved in engineering product design modelling methodology using parametric CAD Design, Mechanical System Simulation (MSS) to assist engineering design process.
• Mechanical Analysis & Simulation studies of complex engineering components such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Topology Design and Optimisation.
