Ms Nicola Ryan


I am a senior lecturer in mental health nursing specialising in child and adolescent mental health, neurodevelopmental disorders and cognitive behavioural therapy. I teach undergraduate and post graduate mental health nurse students, I also teach other branches of nursing students, student teachers in training, social work students.  I have worked in NHS children's services and local borough children's services as a clinical nurse specialist and cognitive behavioural therapist . I continue to work in private practice offering CBT therapy for a range of mental health difficulties and diagnostic assessments for Autism at the National Autistic Society, ADHD & Tourettes Syndrome assessments . I am an occasional speaker at a local ADHD charity and have been a clinician advisor for Young Minds parent helpline .I'm currently helping a children's charity in Uganda develop their needs assessments and training for staff in order to place Ugandan orphan children who have developmental difficulties with Ugandan families.
