Business Administration BBA(Hons): Course features

Please note: This course is only available to students from SVKM-IIS in Mumbai, who take the first two years in Mumbai and join Kingston in England for their third year.

  • This course will prepare you for work in an international environment.
  • It will develop your knowledge and understanding of the principles of entrepreneurship and enterprise development.
  • Optional modules in the second and third years enable you to tailor your degree to your interests and career goals.
  • This course is run by Kingston Business School – one of the leading providers of management and business education with a long-established international reputation. Find out more.
  • The year 4 work placement option enables students to:
    • apply their learning to the real world work environment
    • reflect upon their own personal experience of working in an applied setting
    • focus on aspects of this experience that they can clearly relate to theoretical concepts
    • evaluate the relationship betwen theory and practice.

Students who undertake work-based placements often benefit greatly from the experience, with real experience and work achievements to record on their CV, and also in gaining greater maturity and motivation.

  • The year 4 work placement option is actively encouraged and are supported by a dedicated Placements Office at Kingston and SVKM-IIS, Mumbai. It is the responsibility of individual students to secure their placement but the office offers students support in all stages of the application process: from writing CVs and completing application forms to having mock interviews and assessment centre activities; giving students the opportunity to experience the competitive job application process. The Placements Office has good links with employers with positions available for students but students are welcome to find their own placements.
  • To include a work placement in this programme, students must take the four year degree with the work placement. UKVI visa requirements dictate that the optional work placement year could only be available to SVKM-IIS students in year 4, following successful completion of year 3 (level 6) at Kingston University. Students who successfully complete the work placement and an associated Professional Studies module are eligible for the additional award of undergraduate diploma in professional practice - business.
  • You are assigned a personal tutor for the duration of your degree. Personal tutors are advised of the assessments for each module on their tutee's course. This enables tutors to identify and discuss areas of strength and weakness in each individual student's skills and knowledge set. As personal tutors remain with you throughout your studies, feedback received and discussed will feed forward, further enabling tutors to direct tutees to appropriate sources of support, guidance and development.
