Study nursing and midwifery

We're ranked No.1 in London and No.6 in the UK for nursing and midwifery (Guardian University League table 2022).

If you're looking to make a positive difference to people's lives, we offer a wide range of highly practical nursing degrees in specialist areas such as adult, children's, learning disabilities and mental health nursing.

You'll benefit from learning in our award-winning simulation suite, which offers a wide range of realistic environments, including hospital wards and community settings, with service users who play patients or relatives. You'll have the opportunity to apply your learning in a wide range of placements, including London's leading NHS hospitals as well as in community settings.

Once you graduate, you'll be recommended to the Nursing and Midwifery Council for professional registration. Our students are highly sought after, gaining first posts across Surrey and London in leading NHS and independent organisations.

Midwives give care and advice to women and birthing people, and their families throughout pregnancy and the transition to parenthood. This essential role requires scientific knowledge, practical skills, interpersonal skills and empathy, which you'll gain on our course as well as clinical experience in maternity units in a variety of hospital and community settings in south-west London and Surrey.

You'll graduate with a professional midwifery qualification, ready to enter the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and register as a qualified midwife.
