Am I eligible to apply for a place in halls?

To be eligible to apply for a place in halls, you must hold either a conditional firm or unconditional firm offer to study at Kingston full-time for at least one full academic year, for the first time.

Kingston has 2,574 rooms available in our halls of residence and we allocate these to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis, through we prioritise the following:

  • We reserve a number of adapted rooms for disabled students (these are allocated on the recommendation of a disability adviser).
  • Students who are identified as care leavers who do not have access to other accommodation.

For those who are not offered a place in halls there is a thriving housing market in Kingston and you can seek your own accommodation in the private sector. Please see our independent living pages for guidance on how to find your own accommodation.

International students

International non-EU students who apply by 5 August 2016 are guaranteed an offer of accommodation for our halls of residence during their first year (providing they meet our eligibility criteria).
