Vaughan Williams' cantata based on The Merry Wives of Windsor and Finzi's exquisite Shakespeare songs rub shoulders with a fascinating tribute by the 18th-century composer Thomas Linley and the seductive Songs and Sonnets by jazz pianist George Shearing.
