Kingston University support for care leavers

Care leavers who enrol at Kingston University and have been assessed as 'Home' for fee purposes are eligible to receive a non-repayable bursary of £1,500 per progressive year of study. This bursary is in addition to any other financial entitlement, including the Kingston Scholarship Scheme which is based on household income. The care leaver bursary is paid in two instalments in February and May.

Foyer residents

Young people who have been made homeless and placed in foyer accommodation by their local authority may also be eligible to receive the care leaver bursary. Please complete the registration form including details of a member of staff at the Foyer who can verify your situation.

Current students

If you are a current care leaver student and have not yet applied for this support please contact us as soon as possible (however, please note that bursary payments cannot be backdated).

Compact Scheme

Care leavers and those in foyer accommodation can access additional support through our Compact Scheme which provides a single point of contact for advice and guidance and access to pre-enrolment preparation and induction events.

Further information

If you would like to register your interest, have any questions or are unsure of your eligibility please contact the Compact Scheme co-ordinator on 020 8417 3233 or email compact@kingston.ac.uk.
