Ready for a weekend exploring Amsterdam and Bruges? From lace-making and architecture to cheese and chocolate, you will find so many things to tantalise your senses!
- Day 1: Amersterdam: Walking tour and free time
From London Waterloo Station, we board a coach for Dover, where a ferry will take us to Calais. From Calais, we drive to Amsterdam, the Venice of the North (hint: there are lots of canals). Upon arrival, a walking tour will introduce you to the city and then explore Amsterdam for the rest of the evening after a long day of travel.
- Day 2: Day trip: Edam & Volendam
Only 30 minutes from Amsterdam, we find Edam - with its cheeses, colourful buildings and stained glass windows. At the Kaasmarkt, you can learn how cheese is sold; or visit the Waag House, the Edams Museum, or the Grote Kerk. After lunch, we head to the old fishing village of Volendam, where you can explore the fishing areas or cross the dyke to the lovely old town! We will be back in Amsterdam early enough to give you more time to explore the Anne Frank House, the Heineken brewery, or the Van Gogh Museum.
- Day 3: Bruges
On Sunday morning, we travel to the medieval city of Bruges, where you will spend the afternoon exploring the city of Bruges, renowned for its lacemaking and chocolate. Climb the Belfort for some amazing views, enjoy a boat ride on the city's canals, or just explore the markets and museums within the city's medieval walls.
