About

I am the Course Leader for MA Communication Design: Illustration and coordinate both the Postgraduate Framework and the Graduate Diploma in Creative Practice.

My professional background is as a commercial photographer with 30 years experience working across publishing, editorial and the music industries.

Career highlights include working on the film No Distance Left to Run; as well as the exhibition, albums, singles, merchandising and book for Blur. This compliments my design practice which focuses on hand-crafted typography in contemporary sub cultures.

My research interests include:

  • Open Educational Resources, for which I was granted a Short Term Fellowship at the OU
  • Blended Learning and effective protocols for enhanced student experience
  • The Identification, Restoration and Categorisation of Katherine Routledge's 1914 Expedition to Easter Island in collaboration with Dr. Jo Anne Van Tilburg at UCLA
  • The creation of sub culture commerce
  • Mid Century hand crafted typography
