Law LLB(Hons) with professional experience: Links with business and industry

How we work with our professional partners

Here are some examples of the way in which we work with outside contacts:

  • Colemans-ctts is one of Kingston's largest firms of solicitors. Our good relationship has enabled students to gain work placements at the organisation.
  • Sweet & Maxwell Ltd publishes information for the legal profession and sponsors a prize for the top graduate each year.
  • Cavendish Publishing Ltd is an independent publisher of law books that has sponsored prizes for the Law LLB(Hons) courses.

In addition, an active student Law Society at Kingston works with the legal profession to arrange talks and career events, as well as social activities.

The Community Legal Advice Centre, run by Kingston Law School provides opportunities for you to gain valuable skills, enhance your CV and learn first-hand about community legal cases. The Centre was set up to provide free legal advice to individuals, charities, businesses and community groups in the Kingston area.

Recently our students have been advising on issues such as rogue builders, landlord and tenant disputes, employment disputes, family matters and financial mis-selling.

The Centre is currently closed for the holiday period and will reopen in September.
