POSTPONED Latin America and the Resurgence of Populism: Legal Consequences and Political Challenges at a Global, Regional and National Level

This event has been postponed - a new date will be announced in due course.

The Law Department of Kingston University, with the support of the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS), will host a full-day interdisciplinary workshop, which aims to disseminate the research findings of both established and emerging scholars, as well as advanced graduate students that specialise in legal reforms and political challenges brought about by ‘populist' governments in contemporary Latin America.

To that end, researchers from law and social sciences will come together to exchange perspectives and collectively think about their impact upon national legal frameworks, regional organisations (Mercosur, Pacific Alliance), and the role of Latin American countries on the global stage (EU, Brexit, Global South).
