How to pay

Option 1: Pay using loan

Undergraduate tuition fee loan

If you have applied for a tuition fee loan from Student Finance England, please check your payment schedule from the Student Loan Company to confirm that you have been awarded the correct amount and that Kingston University is listed as the university or college to be paid as an incorrect loan could delay your enrolment.

If you have any queries regarding your undergraduate tuition fee loan or postgraduate loan from Student Finance England please contact them on 0300 100 0607 or visit the Student Finance England website.

For the undergraduate loan, The Student Loan Company will automatically pay the tuition fees on your behalf directly to Kingston University, on the dates specified on the payment schedule.

Postgraduate loan

If you are in receipt of a postgraduate loan, it is possible to arrange a payment plan which is aligned to the disbursement dates. In order to arrange this you will need to raise an enquiry in the 'My Fee Payments' section of the StudentHUB (or email Accounts Receivable if you are not enrolled yet) and include a copy of the letter you have received confirming the funding you have been approved for. This will be reviewed by the Accounts Receivable team and details of the payment plan will be emailed to you. Please note that it will not be possible to take these payments via direct debit so you will be required to pay the agreed instalments online (see option 2 above) on or before the due dates.

Option 2: sponsorship

We must receive notification of sponsorship as soon as possible, and before enrolment, confirming that the sponsor will pay your tuition fees.

Option 3: self-funded

Students who are not intending to pay using a tuition fee loan or sponsorship can either:

  • pay by instalment – where a direct debit or recurring card payment (RCP) has been set up prior to enrolment.
  • pay their tuition fees in full online by card or via a Western Union international bank transfer prior to enrolling.

Methods of payment

Accommodation and tuition fees can only be paid by instalment if you have a valid direct debit or recurring card payment (RCP) set up with the University. If you wish to pay by this method a separate instruction must be set up for each of these fee types before your enrolment can be completed.

If you intend to pay your fees by instalment this will need to be set up before you can complete your enrolment by visiting our secure site (please note that if your direct debit mandate from the previous year is still active you will not need to set up a new one.)

Payment via direct debit or recurring card payment enables you to spread your payments in line with the University's instalment plan, and there is no charge for paying in this way.

You will need a valid UK bank or building society account if you wish to pay by direct debit but a recurring card payment can be set up using either a UK or International issued card.

You will receive an email confirmation once your direct debit or recurring card payment instruction has been accepted and this will be sent to the email address you specify at the time. If you do not receive your confirmation you should contact the Accounts Receivable team to ensure that your direct debit instruction has been received.

Remember: A direct debit must be in place at least 10 days prior to the instalment date for us to collect the payment directly from your account. Ensure you have enough money in your account on the due dates, otherwise your bank may make a charge to your account for every default.

It is your responsibility to check that your direct debit or recurring card payment instruction has been activated. If you wish to cancel your instruction all you are doing is removing the option to pay by instalments. You will then be required to pay the outstanding balance in full immediately.

UK online payment

The most convenient way to pay your fees is by using the University's secure payment website.

You can pay using cards that display the symbols on the right.

If you are unable to access the internet and you are the authorised cardholder, the University will be able to take a payment over the phone if you call +44 (0)20 8417 3333.
