I am an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, which is part of the School of Engineering and Environment. After my graduation from Aston University in Birmingham with a first class honours degree in Production Technology, I furthered my study there and obtained a PhD degree. The project was sponsored by a company specialised in manufacturing design and CAD/CAM based in Aston Science park. My PhD title was Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and particularly specialised in data management in manufacturing. I have since broadened my research interest into other management aspects, including Project & Risk Management, Operations Management, Resources simulation, Just-In-Time production, Smart Manufacturing, Performance measurement and Productivity Benchmarking.
I am currently a course leader of two successful MSc courses, Manufacturing and Engineering Projects, both recognised by the IMechE for chartered engineer application. The manufacturing course is also franchised to a university (UniWA) in Athens which has received high esteem in Europe.
I am also a chartered engineer and a senior fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA).
