I am a senior lecturer in architecture teaching predominantly undergraduates. As a practising architect, I focus on the integration of professional issues and processes into studio projects through a course that aims to make the practice of architecture relevant and tangible.
In architectural practice, I have been involved in projects from historic buildings to new buildings and masterplanning projects, concerned with the sensitive reinterpretation of historic environments, the civic nature of buildings and the contribution that such projects can make to the quality of urban environments.
My research combines professional and academic interests through community based projects, promoting the reinterpretation of existing built environments as social, equitable, sustainable, people-oriented places.
I am an ARB registered architect, an External Examiner in architecture and I have taught and critiqued and at other schools of architecture in the UK.
