Life, work and eco-socialism of William Morris inspires Wallpaper Man exhibition from Kingston School of Art students, academics and alumni

The group have come together under the StoryBox Collective to show William Morris' ongoing influence in many creative disciplines. The exhibition, completed during the first lockdown, brings together artists, illustrators, designers, writers and poets based in London, Berlin, Bangkok and Sardinia.

Kingston University masters graduate joins national Covid-19 testing effort by supporting scientists at UK Biocentre

After completing his MSc in cancer biology earlier this year, Mergim Krasniqi started volunteering at the UK Biocentre in Milton Keynes in May, where he has been supporting scientists in the lab processing tests for Covid-19. Alongside his role at the Lighthouse Lab, he has been working part time at a pharmacy as a trainee pharmacist advisor and completing applications for a PhD.

Life inside a Lighthouse Lab: Kingston University PhD student shares experience of volunteering in specialist site testing Covid-19 samples

Since April, Kingston University PhD student Amtul Bhunnoo has been among the skilled volunteers helping make that possible, working 12-hour shifts at one of the Lighthouse Labs in Milton Keynes. COVID-19 swab samples are sent to the laboratories from the NHS on the front line and other testing sites, including the drive-through sites, for analysis. A £100 million project to upgrade Kingston University's halls of residence at Seething Wells and Kingston Hill gets under way this month.
