Research project: The application of no-fines concrete to post earthquake reconstruction

Abstract

The application (and rapid deployment) of No-fines concrete construction techniques incorporating recycled aggregate and (PLA) polymer reinforcement to low rising building structures for the urgent replacement of residential housing stock damaged by earthquakes and conflict. 

Biography

I began my career working for a Contractor engaged on a wide variety of major Civil Engineering works before becoming a Consultant Engineer and have since been responsible for the management of design teams and consultants' offices and the design and supervision of a wide variety of Civil and Structural Engineering projects both in the UK and overseas. I have spent the last 3 years in an advisory capacity for Neilcott Construction as Civil and Structural Design Manager.
