Dr Redha Benhadj-Djilali

Course director, Mechanical Engineering MSc and Advanced Product Design Engineering MSc

"I am a Chartered Engineer, member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and member of the British Computer Society. I specialised in CAD/CAM/CAE, engineering design and manufacturing automation and have been at Kingston University since 1994. I worked in the manufacturing industry before starting my academic career at Kingston University where I also held a research fellowship and then a lecturer position. My research project was based on the development of a pneumatic array of air jet proximity to tactile sensing device for manufacturing parts identification. I also held a research fellowship for more than two years, during that time I was involved in promoting research in manufacturing automation and assembly. I also carried out further research in the application of the tactile sensing device to monitor slip and gripping force to assist robot part handling and assembly. I am on the editorial boards of three international journals Sensor Review, Industrial Robots and Assembly Automation and review other international journals/conferences."
