Our reputation is reflected in the Guardian University League Tables 2025, where we are ranked No. 1 in London for Midwifery and Social Work. We also rank in the top 5 in London for Mental Health Nursing and in the top 10 in the UK for General Nursing.
We won two awards at the 2023 Student Nursing Times Awards, including Teaching Innovation of the Year for our simulated public health elective. This was part of our annual student nursing electives programme, which was also nominated for the Best Student Experience award, where students are supported to organise their own national or international placement of their choosing.
The facilities at our Nursing Simulated Learning and Clinical Skills Centre include a simulated ward area. This includes a medication room and clinical classrooms, one of which has an immersion suite for fully-immersive simulated learning scenarios in different settings. The areas are set up with an audio-visual system so skills and simulations can be recorded for group debrief and self-assessment.
Our teaching has an extensive focus on practical skills development, in partnership with local NHS Trusts, to ensure graduates are fully equipped and competent to practice as autonomous midwives when they register.
We are ranked No.1 in London for Midwifery (Guardian University Guide league tables 2025).
Our new simulation suite houses all the equipment needed to develop clinical practice skills. This versatile space can be used for simulated home settings or a delivery suite setting. It also has a range of equipment, including a birthing pool, birthing mattresses, manikins, Resuscitaires and exercise balls for you to learn with.
Our social work courses are designed and managed in consultation with employers, partner agencies and those accessing social work services.
Recent changes in social work education and regulation have been incorporated into our courses, these include the Chief Social Workers' Knowledge and Skills Statements and revised Professional Standards for Social Workers set by Social Work England.
We are ranked No.1 in London for Social Work (Guardian University Guide league tables 2025).
Our students benefit from our practising experts, an extended community, and opportunities to network with professional bodies, schools, local authorities, trusts, services and industry.
