I hold a PhD in feminist comedy from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. My live art practice integrates neo-burlesque, stand up comedy, and audience participation. Teaching and research interests include devising, avant-garde performance, feminist live art, Lecoq, physical theatre, commedia dell'arte and philosophical models of the comic body.
I have worked with Stacy Makishi, GETINTHEBACKOFTHEVAN, You Me Bum Bum Train, PanicLab, defunct theatre, Artists Repertory Theatre, The Whoopie Club, Anonymous Theatre, Womxn SRSLY, The Blue Stockings Society and produced my work at such venues as The Place, Proud Cabaret, the Yard Theatre, Camden People's Theatre, Komedia, Arts Theatre, Bethnal Green Workingmen's Club, Chelsea Theatre, Royal Vauxhall Tavern, Madame Jojo's, Volupte Lounge, the Slipper Room, Leicester Square Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, and Chisenhale Dance Space. I have curated for the London Comedy Forum, and been a panel speaker for the Centre for Comedy Studies Research. I have also guest lectured at Central School of Speech and Drama, University of Kent, Arts Educational School, and Mountview. I've published articles forComedy Studies journal and McSweeneys.
My professional memberships include the Theatre and Performance Research Association (TaPRA)and the International Society for Humour Studies (ISHS)
