The Penrhyn Road campus is located in the heart of Kingston and is home to the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing and the the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, plus a gym and health centre. The site is located partially within the Grove Crescent conservation area. Surrey County Hall, to the north west of the Town House, is a grade II listed building, while there are also a number of trees on site protected by a Tree Preservation Order.
1. Works on the University's new flagship teaching and learning facility have started on site and once fully implemented, will provide a new Learning Resources Centre, covered courtyard, rehearsal and performance spaces, cafés and open terraces, set within an extensive public landscaped area.
2. 12-14 Fassett Road: Replacement of the existing poor-quality two-storey buildings with a new sensitively-designed building.
3. Sopwith car park: This area presents an opportunity to provide temporary buildings for teaching space while works are carried out elsewhere within the Kingston University estate.
