What this course offers you

  • This course is split into 50% theory and 50% clinical practice.
  • A focus on learning together with other health and social care professions enhances interprofessional and team working. You will have opportunities for learning with with medical, pharmacy, midwifery, physiotherapy, radiography paramedics, social workers and bio-medical science students.
  • You will gain extensive experience in our well-equipped simulation suites.
  • Our commitment to blended learning methods includes using e-learning materials to support theory and practice.
  • Support from personal tutors, academic supervisors, and a dedicated student support officer will help you reach your full potential.
  • Our top-quality teaching team includes:
    • full-time academic staff with a professional background;
    • practitioners and professors;
    • input from clinical specialists;
    • and qualified clinical mentors who provide teaching, support and assessment of students in practice.
  • You will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience working within a clinical research placement to gain an insight into clinical trials and the role of clinical research within patient care.
  • First-year students can develop their community nursing skills on our Alternative Practice Programme. Working in teams, you will explore topics such as mental health and wellbeing and nutrition and sustainability, and prepare a presentation. This project is supported by major industry partners including the London NHS Trust Development Authority and Public Health England.
  • Through our Heritage 2 Health programme, you will have the opportunity to work with professionals in the creative industries, helping to promote the best care for service users at heritage sites.
