Kingston University is home to two extraordinary cultural venues
The Stanley Picker Gallery and Dorich House Museum are dedicated to showcasing cutting-edge art and design, preserving heritage and providing hands-on learning for students. Admission is free for students, offering a unique chance to explore and engage with contemporary art and historical collections.
Gain hands-on experience in art and heritage
Both venues offer volunteer opportunities and paid assistant roles, allowing students to build practical skills and real-world experience in the arts and heritage sectors. The assistant programme equips students with expertise in gallery and museum operations – an advantage in the competitive contemporary art, design and museum fields.
Unleash your creativity at Stanley Picker Gallery
Located by the Hogsmill River, the Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston School of Art offers a dynamic public programme dedicated to advancing new work in art and design.
Supported by the Stanley Picker Trust and Arts Council England, the Gallery connects Kingston University to the broader arts community. Through fellowships, workshops and public activities, the Gallery provides students with invaluable experience in innovation and creative practice.
Connect with heritage at Dorich House Museum
Just a short walk from Kingston Hill campus, Dorich House Museum preserves the legacy of sculptor Dora Gordine.
This Grade II listed building houses the world’s largest collection of Gordine’s work and an exceptional selection of Russian art. Serving as a global centre for women’s creative practice, the museum offers students access to research resources and exhibits that celebrate both heritage and modern creativity.
