About
I joined Kingston University in 2018 to pursue an MSc in Accounting and Finance, during which I worked as an academic mentor for undergraduate students. In 2021, I began teaching as an adjunct lecturer while completing my PhD in Accounting and Finance. Before transitioning into a full-time academic role, I gained professional experience working in accounting and finance practice, which informs my teaching and allows me to bridge theory with real-world application. I am now a full-time lecturer and teach a range of accounting and finance modules.
My doctoral research examined earnings management in NHS organisations, focusing on how financial performance and regulatory ratings influence managerial decision-making. My academic interests include financial reporting, healthcare finance, and corporate governance, with a particular emphasis on improving the financial reporting of public funds and supporting transparency in public sector organisations.
I enjoy helping students connect technical knowledge to real-world practice. I am passionate about guiding students as they develop the skills and confidence to excel in their professional careers while fostering an understanding of how financial reporting impacts society.
