About
I am a Specialist Teacher and Assessor for students with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and former Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), with a particular interest in dyslexia and dyscalculia.
My extensive school-based experience has spanned a range of roles in several local schools. This has equipped me with unique insight and a broad set of skills, which have helped to inform the recommendations made to other professionals when reflecting on the identification of dyslexic traits within the classroom and the provision of appropriate teaching strategies for all children with literacy difficulties.
In addition, I set up a small consultancy in 2022, Dyslexia Surbiton, which provides assessment and training services directly to schools and families.
A commitment to supporting teachers, providing meaningful engagement for families and linking research findings to practical actions are central to my role.
