About
As Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA Fashion Promotion and Communication I aim through my teaching and mentorship to provide the structures for challenge and opportunity which support our students in evolving their creativity, academic and professional skills to have purpose, meaning, value and impact in preparation for the global fashion industry. Recent course collaborative projects have included Knit Wits Haus of SIBLING exhibition with Kingston Museum and The Community Brain, How to Change the World with KAAPDA, competition projects with Elvis & Kresse and JasminebySeba and Together We Are Fashion with IED Firenze (Italy).
I have previously studied at London College of Fashion, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Amsterdam Fashion Instituut/Hogeschool van Amsterdam (AMFI), ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de kunsten Arnhem, Royal College of Art, and University College London (UCL).
I've published extensively on fashion culture in Germany, Italy, UK, and USA and presented my research at conferences and symposiums at the universities of Bologna, Brighton, Helsinki, London, Oxford, Sheffield, Warwick, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, Institut Français de la Mode (Paris), London College of Fashion, Royal College of Art, and Universitá del Sacro Cuore (Milan) as well as for the Costume Society and the Chicago Fashion Lyceum.
I've previously taught at the University for the Creative Arts (Epsom), Winchester School of Art/University of Southampton (Russell Group), Royal College of Art, London College of Fashion (UAL), and Coventry University London. As an External Examiner I've helped review or validate courses at Birmingham City University, Leeds Beckett University, University of Northampton, Plymouth College of Art, Instituto Marangoni, and University of East London (UEL).
As a Co-Founder of the Fashion Research Network (2013-2023), project collaborations have included Courtauld Institute of Art, De Montfort University, Fashion Institute of Technology New York, ICA, INIVA, National Portrait Gallery (NPG), Parsons The New School for Design, Somerset House, Royal College of Art, University of Cape Town, University of Hong Kong, and the V&A Museum amongst others.
