University Mental Health Day 2024

Mental health influences how we think, feel, and interact with the world around us. Mental health issues among young people and individuals across our community have become increasingly common, impacting their ability to learn, communicate, and develop healthy relationships. Studies demonstrate that approximately 1 in 5 adolescents experience mental health problems each year, but less than half receive treatment. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, and stress-related disorders are particularly prevalent in this age group, often exacerbated by academic pressures, social media, and the challenges of transitioning into adulthood. Addressing mental health openly and providing support systems are crucial steps in nurturing resilient young individuals who can cope with life's challenges, achieve their potential, and contribute positively to their communities. By prioritizing mental health in our daily lives, we pave the way for healthier, happier futures for our youth.

Join us in embracing the journey towards mental wellness, breaking stigmas, and strengthening our values and prioritizing the mental health of all students, staff, and individuals in the wider community.

The event will commence at 12:45pm, and we warmly invite all guests to enjoy a light lunch and refreshments from 12:30pm.
