Paul Bishop Design Scholarship launched at Kingston School of Art aims to increase access to design courses for aspiring students

A new scholarship, supported by Kingston University graduate and award-winning international designer Paul Bishop, has launched to give an opportunity to one prospective interior design or product and furniture design student. The scholarship includes a 100% fee waiver as well as an annual £5,000 living allowance bursary for all three years of the course.

Kingston University engineering students take on teams from across the globe in Formula Student competition at Silverstone

A team of student engineers from Kingston University are set to pit their race car against others from around the world after arriving at Silverstone for the annual Formula Student competition. The University team, supported by academics and technicians from the Faculty of Science, Computing and Engineering, have spent the past 18 months designing and building a single seater race car which they will put to the test in a series of gruelling events at the home of British motorsport.

Last week saw the publication of the government-commissioned National Food Strategy – an independent report led by restaurateur Henry Dimbleby which outlined how the country's food system and our diets need to change to meet health, climate and nature targets. Care leaver and single mum overcomes obstacles to graduate at Kingston University after emigrating from Africa

After losing her mother and giving birth to a baby girl in her teenage years, Zainab Sillah decided she wanted to make a better life for herself and move to England from her native Gambia. Upon arrival in the country, with her daughter following her as soon as she was allowed to, she was placed into care as an unaccompanied minor. Just seven years later, she is about to graduate from Kingston University with a degree in Working with Children and Young People: Social Pedagogy.

Kingston University and South Thames Colleges Group sign strategic partnership to boost opportunities for students, paving way to higher education and employment

Kingston University and the South Thames Colleges Group have forged a new strategic partnership agreement to maximise learning and career opportunities for students and improve access to higher education. The agreement has been signed by Kingston University's Vice-Chancellor Professor Steven Spier and Chief Executive of South Thames Colleges Group Peter Mayhew-Smith, with the milestone marked at a special event this week. It provides a framework for both organisations to fulfil their shared objectives more effectively, as well as to explore and develop new areas of mutual interest and joint activities that will benefit students, employers, and the local community.
