Environmental and Earth Resource Management MSc: Links with business and industry

How we work with industry partners

Our links with industry provide a practical base for our courses. They also help us to ensure your studies are kept up-to-date and relevant to the working environment.

For example, you will benefit from the latest views from visiting speakers. Recent speakers have included:

  • Vicky Clack – senior environmental control advisor at Bifa Plc;
  • Susan Kent – commercial waste minimisation officer at Oxford County;
  • Lim Kawaako – project manager at London Remade;
  • Kathy Morrissey – from WSP Environmental Ltd;
  • Alan Thornley – chief planning officer at Cheshire County Council; and
  • Dr Nick Badham – mineral exploration consultant.

You might also have the opportunity to participate in events such as:

  • a contaminated land site investigation;
  • an evaluation of water resource issues;
  • a waste audit;
  • a waste management tender;
  • an ecological site evaluation; or
  • a site visit – recent students visited Johnston Engineering, for example.
