Isabel Howdle: "I was fortunate enough to secure a position at a private wealth manager shortly before my exams"

Course: Investment and Financial Risk Management MSc
Employer: Jonathanfry plc

"Coming from an unrelated undergraduate degree, I started my MSc Investment and Financial Risk Management course with a lower level of relevant knowledge than most. Fortunately I found the support from both the staff and my fellow students to be invaluable and readily available, helping me (in one year)to form a good knowledge base for my career. I was also offered additional opportunities to expand my experience and skills, and enjoyed being one of the members of the Kingston team for the University Investment Challenge, in which we took first place. I was fortunate enough to secure a position at a private wealth manager shortly before my exams, and was asked to start four days after their completion. While I am certain my course was instrumental to receiving this offer, I was also impressed by the ample support I was then given while writing my dissertation, allowing me to complete it during my evenings and weekends. While it was undoubtedly the most busy year of my life, my time at Kingston was also one of the most rewarding."
