About
Dr Becky Lees is School Director of Learning and Teaching at Kingston Business School, Kingston University. A Kingston Business School graduate, she joined the University in 2000 and has since developed extensive experience across teaching, academic leadership, quality enhancement, and curriculum development.
Throughout her career, Becky has taught across a range of disciplines, including quantitative methods, management science, and information management, while holding a variety of leadership roles focused on course management, quality assurance, and the student academic experience. In her current role, she provides strategic leadership for learning, teaching, and assessment across the School.
Becky holds a PhD in Educational Research from Lancaster University. Her research focuses on higher education pedagogy, with particular interests in the student journey from transition into higher education through learning, assessment, skills development, and graduate employability. She is especially interested in how programme design and assessment can support students in achieving programme learning outcomes, and in fostering continuity, collaboration, and co-construction of learning across the student experience.
A Senior Fellow of Advance HE, Becky also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education. She is a University Teaching Fellow, a Provost Award winner for Learning and Teaching Excellence, and a Certified Management and Business Educator (CMBE), awarded by the Chartered Association of Business Schools. She has achieved Team-Based Learning Fundamentals certification and is an experienced PebblePad practitioner. Externally, she has served as a Teaching and Learning Expert on Curriculum Framework Panels and as a Validation Panel member for international institutions. Within Kingston University, she is a trained validation chair and an assessor for Advance HE fellowship applications up to Senior Fellowship (SFHEA) level.
