About
I am an associate professor in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics and have played many roles within the school including course director for BSc (Hons) Computer Science and BSc (Hons) Software Engineering.
My PhD was in the field of parallel computational fluid dynamics. I introduced a new algorithm to solve large computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and computational mechanics (CM) problems.
I have a wealth of global industrial experience having worked for Oracle Corporation for a number of years as a senior consultant.
I am a passionate student-centred academic with a creative approach to content and delivery. Part of my present contribution to pedagogic research is in the educational technology domain focusing on the use of social media in higher education to assess the effects of social media on student development, engagement, learning, and success.
