About
I am a senior lecturer and Course Director for the MSc Real Estate programme at Kingston University. I have been employed as a full-time member of teaching staff at Kingston University since July 2023, with responsibility for teaching, assessment, student supervision and programme leadership across real estate, finance and related business disciplines.
Before entering academia, I gained more than 20 years of professional experience in the banking industry. This industry experience, together with my academic and professional qualifications, enables me to integrate theoretical concepts with practical applications in my teaching.
As a CFA Charterholder and Chartered Surveyor, I draw on strong analytical, quantitative and professional expertise. My teaching is practical and example-led, with an emphasis on helping students understand how financial, economic and real estate principles are applied in professional practice. I am committed to creating an inclusive learning environment in which students from different academic and professional backgrounds can develop confidence in finance, accounting and business studies.
I encourage students to think critically, evaluate evidence and apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems, particularly in banking, financial markets, investment and real estate. My wider educational responsibilities include curriculum development, assessment design, academic supervision and supporting students’ academic and professional development.
Alongside my teaching and programme leadership responsibilities, I am an active researcher in financial intermediation, banking, household finance and housing finance. My research examines how market conditions, regulatory frameworks and economic developments influence financial institutions, household decision-making, financial stability and economic growth.
