About
I am a lecturer in Computer Science and my work intersects with cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and human-centred computing. My research concentrates on understanding users' perspectives on security and privacy (S&P), particularly in contexts involving multiple devices and multi-user environments. Using large language models and machine learning methodologies, my research explores various dimensions of contemporary cybersecurity threats and their impact on individuals, organisations, and society at large.
In addition to my lecturing responsibilities, I am actively involved in cyber security research funded at the national level. My recent research, supported by the NCSC and the Alan Turing Institute, has focused on developing large language model (LLM)-based tools and knowledge graphs for analysing organisational cyber risks and data flows. My earlier collaboration work with the University of Kent and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) contributed to significant UK studies on ransomware damage and victim experiences, thereby influencing the understanding of the social and economic impacts of cybercrime.
I have extensive teaching and leadership experience within both further and higher education, complemented by a supportive, student-centric teaching methodology. I strongly believe in and am committed to inclusive, supportive, and student-centred teaching and learning. I emphasise active learning, practical application, and real-world problem-solving, and I strive to equip my students with the essential skills needed for a secure and bright future.
