About
My academic career began when I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Physiology at the University of Greenwich in 2001. During the final year of my degree, I developed a keen interest in neuroscience and pharmacology.
I then undertook an MSc in Neuroscience at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London. My research interest in the field of physiology and neuroscience developed during this time and I then embarked upon a PhD in 2003 within the Department of Craniofacial Development, working on the morphology and genetics of the developing middle ear at King's College London. I completed my PhD in 2007.
My current research is focused on comorbidities and conductive hearing loss as well neuropharmacological agents and their effects on planarian species.
In 2018, I achieved the postgraduate diploma in higher education and become a fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2022.
I teach on undergraduate physiology and pharmacology courses as well as postgraduate pharmacology.
Domains
I teach on undergraduate physiology and pharmacology courses as well as postgraduate pharmacology.
Courses taught
My current scientific research is focussed on comorbidities with conductive hearing loss as well neuropharmacological agents and their effects on planarian species.
My pedagogical research is focused on barriers to learning.
I'm currently a module leader for Human Physiology and Pharmacology. I'm also a lead for the outreach working group.
