Greg Epps

I have been the Course Leader for BA Interior Design since joining Kingston in 2013. Previously, a Senior Lecturer on the Interior Design Environment Architectures program at Ravensbourne whilst working in a diverse range of practices including Branson Coates and Turner Works. My built works range from exhibitions and temporary installations to shops, hotels, schools and landscapes. I have been a research associate for Steelcase and IDEO. Designer in residence with the Serpentine Gallery and CABE. I have exhibited at the ICA, The British Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Westminster Great Hall and Documenta in Kassel.

I am passionate about ‘Thinking Through Drawing’ and designers’ ability to transform complex needs, desires, contexts and possibilities into meaningful and memorable propositions through drawing. My current research speculates an alternative to Stuart Brand’s ‘Shearing Layers’ model from the perspective of the Interior. The model is turned inside out; embracing ecology, augmented experiences and cultural legacy through a collage of time, material and meaning.
