About
I began my journey as a Midwife after qualifying from Kingston University in 2012. Following qualification, I worked across both community and hospital settings, where I developed a deep passion for promoting normality in childbirth, continuity of care, and the empowerment of women. It has been a privilege to support women and their families through such transformative moments in their lives.
I joined the Faculty in 2014 as a seconded honorary lecturer while continuing to practise clinically. During this time, I also held the post of Interim Clinical Practice Facilitator at my trust, which sparked a strong interest in education. In 2015, I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Currently, I am a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery and serve as the Course Leader for both the Foundation Year and the 3-Year Midwifery programmes. I also hold the role of Sustainability Lead for the School of Education, Midwifery and Social Work and am a Professional Midwifery Advocate, supporting midwives in reflective practice, professional development, and the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care.
In all aspects of my work, I strive to embed Kingston University's Future Skills agenda—encouraging students to develop critical thinking, adaptability, and collaborative practice. I am committed to inclusive and transformative education that prepares students not only for professional success but also for meaningful civic engagement, in line with Kingston University's Town House Strategy.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and equity—ensuring that every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to make a positive impact in their communities and the wider healthcare landscape.
