About
I am an animator, researcher and educator. As MA Animation course leader in the design school at Kingston School of Art, I build on my theory and practice to support students. Both my practice and research are cross-disciplinary with a focus on collaborative, expanded and ecocritical approaches.
My animated films have been screened internationally at Annecy film festival, London International Animation Festival (Edge of Frame), Edinburgh International Film Festival, Ann Arbour International Film Festival; MIKROFAF (Belgrade), Schick Gallery (New York); Semaphore Gallery (Switzerland), ICA (London), The New York Drawing Centre; Kunsthalle Mainz and Musee d'art Contemporain du Val de Marne (France). My films have won several awards, such as the jury prize at Ann Arbor Film Festival and Istanbul Experimental Film Festival, as well as being shortlisted for the McLaren Awards.
My animation art projects have been commissioned by The Prince's Trust, Barbican Creative Learning, Animate! Channel 4, Suffolk Arts Council and the Gdansk Institute of Art. I have worked as a sound recordist on BBC commissioned documentary films as well as on broadcast production for the NGOs, Black Sash and The Treatment Action Campaign.
As an educator I have led live, collaborative projects with students and practitioners at the Tate Modern (Tate Exchange), Eclectic Labs, Milton Court and Barbican Exhibition Halls. I have worked with Barbican Creative Learning and Guildhall School of Music and co-led a sound and image research group.
