About
I am a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery and Course Leader for the two-year programme at Kingston University, where I also lead the Year 1 module Social and Political Context of Midwifery. As a Kingston alumna, I qualified as a midwife in 2010 and have built a career rooted in clinical excellence, student support, and educational innovation.
My journey from clinical practice to academia reflects Kingston University’s commitment to Future Skills—particularly empathy, collaboration, and resilience—which I strive to foster in my students through both curriculum and mentorship.
My passion for teaching emerged during my time as a Clinical Practice Facilitator, where I supported students in clinical environments. I transitioned into academia as an honorary lecturer and went on to earn a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2015, followed by Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. These achievements demonstrate my dedication to progressive education and teaching excellence.
