Photography Workshop

Kingston School of Art's photography studios offer the full range of facilities and equipment needed to understand, use and create within this medium. Studios and production suites are available six days a week to all School of Art students, whatever discipline they study. Therefore, photography students work alongside – and are stimulated by – fashion students, architects and fine artists.

The studios are equipped to professional standards and can accommodate projects at almost all scales. Facilities and equipment include:

  • Table top photography.
  • Copy stand work.
  • Half and full-length backdrops.
  • Lighting facilities.
  • Traditional darkroom, with facilities for colour and black and white processing; daylight calibrated viewing station; De Vere enlargers; and negative making
  • Digital darkroom with workstations for high quality input and output and viewing; and hardware such as Mac Pro; NEC Spectraview and EIZO monitors; Imacon scanners; and Epson flatbed scanners and large-format printers.
  • Two studios.

Knowledgeable support is given by the team of photography technicians.
