Choose Kingston's Midwifery / Registered Midwife for registered nurses PgDip

This 85 week PgDip course has been designed for registered adult nurses who have already studied at degree level who would like to gain the knowledge, skills and values necessary to register as midwives on the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) professional register. This is an NMC approved course.

What will you study?

You will be offered clinical experience within local NHS trusts and the surrounding community. We aim to co-ordinate your clinical placements to reflect the modules being studied, integrating theory and practice.

The themes that run through the programme are midwifery profession and practice, research, biological science, social science, health promotion/public health, and law and ethics.

You will have the opportunity to study a foreign language, free of charge, during your time at the University as part of the Kingston Language Scheme. Options currently include: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.
