The Kingston Bursary

There are at least 500 bursaries of £2,000 (in the first year of study) available to 'Home' fee-status students who start an undergraduate course at Kingston University in September 2022.

Eligibility criteria

Eligible students will be identified automatically and you do not need to apply for the bursary. However, please read the 'what you need to do' section below to ensure we can consider your eligibility.

To be eligible for the bursary you must meet all the criteria below. This does not guarantee a bursary, as there are a limited number available.

You must:

  • Be commencing Year 1 of an undergraduate course with us
  • Be studying a course with tuition fees of £9,250 (please see our fees and funding webpage)
  • Not be studying a course that is eligible for the NHS Learning Support Fund (Midwifery, all undergraduate Nursing courses). We would recommend that you apply for this support on the NHS Learning Support Fund webpage.
  • Have a household income of £25,000 or less, as assessed by the relevant funding body (please see below, including what you must do).
  • Be in receipt of the full maintenance loan.

What you need to do

To be considered for the Kingston Bursary you should

  • Firmly accept your offer from Kingston University for September 2022 entry
  • Apply for your student finance support from Student Finance England, Wales, Northern Ireland or the Student Awards Agency Scotland. You must have a household income assessment completed by the relevant organisation in order to be considered for the Kingston Bursary. We would encourage you to apply early as this process can take some time – without this assessment you cannot be considered for the bursary. You must have Kingston University and your course with us listed as your first choice in your Student Finance application.
  • Fully enrol as a student at Kingston University.

What will happen next

We will contact eligible students who have been awarded the Kingston Bursary in September 2022.

Students in receipt of the Kingston Bursary will receive this as a payment in three instalments, paid into the UK bank account you have registered for Student Finance.
