Visiting students' orientation

We realise that arriving in a new country and meeting new people may be initially confusing and stressful as well as exciting. Our aim is to make sure that you are prepared for studying at Kingston by arranging a specific tailored orientation session.

Topics normally covered include:

  • meeting the Study Abroad International Learning (SAIL) Office  team, including receiving contact details and office hours;
  • adjusting to successful learning and teaching in the UK/Kingston system;
  • introduction to the IT and library services;
  • using public transport;
  • finding out more about a wide range of tours around the UK and in Europe offered by a local tour company; and
  • discussing study plans and timetables (for Study Abroad and international exchange students only). Erasmus students obtain this information from their faculty Erasmus administrator / co-ordinator.

Enrolment is the event when you confirm your status as a Kingston University student and will receive your student card. There are two stages, both of which are done online.

It is unrelated to registering in individual modules, which is a separate process.
